A camera obscura is a darkened room with a small hole or lens at one side through which light travels resulting in an image of the outside world projected onto a facing wall or screen.

In this workshop participants will be working inside a camera obscura that Brendan has constructed inside the gallery at Greenhill and using it to expose light direct onto photosensitive paper. These images will then be processed in a pop up darkroom constructed inside the camera itself.

Throughout the day we will learn about the mechanics of photography, time, light and subject matter and create a series of traditional analogue black & white photographic prints. We will be producing still life arrangements of flowers and foliage, we will have subject matter available to use but participants are encouraged to bring their own plant life and vases should they wish.

This fantastic workshop will be taking place in the Green Hill gallery itself, which will be closed to members of the public for the duration of the day.

This is a full day workshop (10.00am - 4.00pm) - so bring a packed lunch!
